If hair grows from the root on your scalp, how does trimming the ends affect hair growth at all? Is this just a myth about trimming making it grow faster?
Everyone always says that if you're trying to grow out your hair, routine trimmings will make it grow faster.
to put it nicely, its bull bout hair cuts making hair grow faster. there is no miracle pill to make ur hair grow faster so ppl who say brushin ur hair makes it grow, vitimins tht magically make ur hair grow or whatever...its all bull.
regular hair trims help stop split ends - basically longer u leave split ends, more u jus end up havin to have cut off, where as if u get ur hair cut every 4-6 weeks its literally jus the ends if tht makes sense?
there are 3 stages of hair growth - angen, catagen and telegen.
the anagen is the actual growing stage of the hair and depending on how long tht stage last is how long ur hair will grow.
on average hair grows at 1/2 an inch per month. having a good diet can help but there is no miracle cure for making hair grow.
if u do want long hair tho, u can cheat and get hair extensions, and if u do, go for weave in 1s as glue/bond 1s cause damage and with sewn in 1s ur hair is braided and strips of hair sewn in, it means ur hair can have a "break" and can grow.
hope this helps

This is not a myth, it true because if you don't cut your hair you'll start getting split ends and your hair will look tacky and it won't grow out as long, so always trim it

I have no clue. I found that the Target brand prenatal pills really help with hair growth, maybe try that?

This is a myth. Your hair is dead as soon as it bgins to show.
Trimming your ends will allow your hair to look nice however, growing your hair out has evrything to do with the roots.
Your hair will grow at its own speed regardless if you trim the ends or not
Everyone always says that if you're trying to grow out your hair, routine trimmings will make it grow faster.
here's what I know....by trimming your hair you are cutting off damage that can further split and cause your hair to break off. When you trim your hair you allow for it to retain more nutrients and for it to look healthier. I don't think that it neccessarily grows faster...it just ensures that you don't have a lot of breakage and that your hair will get to grow at a normal rate.

Everytime you straighten, curl, crimp, use all these extra products (ex: shine serums, frizz control sprays..etc.) and even excessive washing of your hair, causes chemical damage to your hair which causes split ends. If you don't get them trimmed off eventually the hair will keep splitting all the way to the roots. This will slow down the growth process.

It's a myth, why would your hair grow faster by cutting off the ends, when it grows from you scalp??? Just make sure you keep it clean, and eat healthy.
Yes you can get extentions to, I got these really nice real hair clip in extensions from Sally's and they work great! They matched my hair too!

i dont know if it helps it grown faster. i think it just makes it look longer since its more healthy if you cut of the dead ends.
