It doesn't. It's an optical illusion because, instead of growing in gradually (a hair here, a hair there...) those hairs that had already sprouted once pop up all at the same time.

Also, most hair (especially leg hair) has a maximum length it can grow to. So the growth does slow down once that hair begins to reach is maximum.

simply, there's no more split ends. when hair is just trimed, there are always some split ends left, which creats problemos. some people don't know this, but it really rejuvinates your hair when it is cut in any way, and shaving is the ultimate cut.

i always waxed my legs when i shaved them the hair grew back coarse. i think it depends on ur hair color to begin with.
