I'm 18, and I've tried repeatedly and consciously to grow my hair down my back for years, but it's never been longer than about 2 inches past my shoulders. WHY?!

Is it unhealthy? If you keep it free of split ends it won't break off. Also try hot oil treatments.

After years of dyes and other harsh chemicals, hair may grow a lot slower, and in some cases not at all. If it grows too slowly, and as you lose a few hairs everyday, it may seem that its not growing past a certain length.
