If your hair grows from the root, then why must you "trim" your ends to make your hair gro

I have been told from many of my employees that I need to trim my hair to make have hair grow. But, when you dye your hair and it starts to grow again, it grows from the root. So, why would I need to trim my ends to make my hair grow IF your hair doesn't grow from the ends... but from your root.

i know that sounds so weird, but its true!! if you dont trim your hair its more prone to breakage and split ends. get your hair trimmed every three months so it will be healthy, G/L!!

you put more heat on the ends and the root part is new growth

Trimming hair does NOT make it grow. It does, however, clean up the ends and make it more even and get rid of damage so your hair LOOKS longer.... but cutting the ends off does not make it grow. Hair grows from the roots, and once you can see it, the part you see it actually dead.

Trimming your hair doesn't make it grow. It just makes your ends even so that they don't look like a horse tail.

You can increase the blood flow to your scalp to stimulate hair growth. Head massage, brushing and certain electrode treatments are the best ways to accelerate hair growth.

It's a myth, trimming your hair does not make it grow faster. Ask your hairdresser...

idk i used to always think about that. i guess cuz you get split ends and it splits all the way up to the root but other then that youre righttt

Trimming your ends does not make your hair grow. Trimming ends is only to cut off split ends.

you need to trim your ends to make your hair grow because due to hair damage the ends of your hair will split. when the ends split, it makes it alot harder for your hair to grow. its like putting a temporary slow down sign on hair growth. yes, your hair does grow from the roots but it needs a smooth path down your strands of hair to grow in a more beautiful way. you need to keep you ends healthy to grow beautiful. you dont see models or actresses with split ends- because they take care of their hair. usually if people are tellign you that you need to get your hair trimmed that means that your split ends are really noticable and they make a person look trashy when they have alot of split ends. dont jsut take care of your body. take care of your hair too.

trimming your hair slightly gets rid of split ends. Split ends cause your hair to break off, so it doesn't seem to be growing. If your hair doesn't break, it will get longer.

So it's still growing either way, just not breaking off if you trim it.

Technically speaking, trimming your hair "allows" it to grow longer, doesn't "make" it grow longer.

When you trim your hair, you trim off a portion smaller than what would naturally break off when damaged.

For example, a regular trim could be as little as 1/2 inch every 6 weeks. If you neglect your hair and let the ends get dry and brittle, they will break off or split in lengths of 1 - 3 inches. You've seen a split-end up close, right? It can quickly split all the way up the hair shaft, leaving you with two tiny brittle strands that will probably break off next time you wash your hair.

I think they meant shaving your hair will make your hair grow out again. When you shave away all your hair, it sort of allows all the 'new' hair to grow out again. and the thing about shaving hair off certain areas always produces much more hair, yea, it applies to your head as well.

to prevent breakage of the ends %26amp; keep it healthy

so hair will grow from the root and by protecting the hair shaft hair will get longer
